Junior Firpo Joel Piroe PFA POTM

Leeds United duo Junior Firpo and Joël Piroe have been nominated for the PFA Championship Fans’ Player of the Month award for February.

The pair enjoyed a fine month with the Whites, helping Daniel Farke’s side to record five straight victories in the Sky Bet Championship.

Dutch forward Piroe was deadly in front of goal, beginning the month with a brace on home soil against Cardiff City, before finding the back of the net away at Coventry City, Watford and Sheffield United, to now lead the race in the hunt for the division’s Golden Boot.

Dominican Republic international Firpo was also in scintillating form for United, grabbing five assists and one goal.

After setting up four for his teammates against the Bluebirds and the Hornets collectively, the left-back thundered in a headed equaliser at Bramall Lane, before flicking a corner on for Ao Tanaka to net a late effort against the Blades.

Also nominated for the award were Josh Murphy (Portsmouth), Bobby Thomas (Coventry City), James Trafford (Burnley) and Anel Ahmedhodžić (Sheffield United).
