Leeds United will host an exclusive virtual quiz night to raise much needed funds for a local mental health charity with Patrick Bamford set to make a special guest appearance to show his support.
The 'LUFC Quiz' evening will take place on Thursday 4th February, kicking-off at 6.15pm, through a Zoom call and will be hosted by LUTV presenter Rich Williams who will be joined by former player Jermaine Beckford and current star and leading goalscorer for the 2020/21 season, Patrick Bamford.
Supporters are able to take part in the virtual quiz by making a £20 donation to a local mental health organisation on JustGiving. The first 90 people to donate will all be able to take part in the quiz, if stated clearly, receiving details ahead of the scheduled event with how they can join.
All of the money raised from the special event will be used to support the mental health and wellbeing of young people in our community. The local charity is run by Beverley Yearwood, who sadly lost her daughter Afrika at the incredibly young age of 18. Afrika lost her battle with mental health and took her own life and over the last two years Beverley has worked hard to improve the services available to young people to ensure other parents don't have to go through what she did.
Everyone that donates to the JustGiving page will also be automatically entered into a raffle to win a full-squad signed Leeds United home shirt, including those who make a donation but do not wish to take part in the quiz. The winner will be chosen on the night of the quiz and contacted shortly after.
Suicide in young people continues to increase locally and nationally so if you are able to take part and donate to the incredibly important cause you will hopefully be helping to save the lives of many young people battling with their mental health. The money will specifically be used to provide additional counselling services throughout Leeds.
