Pascal Struijk chatted with LUTV after the Whites and Europa League winners, Villarreal played out a 2-2 draw.
The clash was entertaining throughout, with both teams coming from behind when required to do so.
The defender played all 90 minutes in the encounter with the Spanish side and then gave his thoughts to LUTV after the final whistle.
“I think at times we played some good football, we were a bit unlucky with the two goals we conceded,” said Struijk.
“I think our football and our pressing went well, a lot better than we’ve shown in the last few games.
“We’ve played some good sides in pre-season, it’s been a very competitive pre-season which I think is good for us.”
The 21-year-old is now relishing the prospect of playing for Marcelo Bielsa’s side at Old Trafford on Sunday.
“Our first game is against a very tough side so it’s good to prepare well,” Struijk explained.
“I think we still have points to improve on to be ready for the Manchester United game, but we’ve shown we are improving every single game.
“This upcoming week we still have to prepare well and let’s see how it goes!”
