The Unlocking Potential Programme brings together the club’s official charity with NFL Foundation UK and the San Francisco 49ers, engaging young people across the city through flag football. The project aims to provide greater access to educational and sporting pathways for 1,000 boys and girls aged 11-20 in primary and secondary schools in the first year alone.
Beeston’s Cockburn Academy is one of many schools benefiting from the Unlocking Potential Programme. The initiative offers after-school coaching sessions for students in Years 7-11, providing them with an opportunity to engage in flag football while developing key skills both on and off the field.
The programme has seen a hugely positive response, with participation growing each week. It remains on track to meet its goal of reaching 1,000 young people in its first year.
As part of their involvement, each participant receives an Unlocking Potential t-shirt and water bottle, reinforcing their connection to the programme and encouraging an active lifestyle.
