The match officials for Leeds United’s clash with Middlesbrough on Saturday have been confirmed with Darren England set to be the man in the middle.
The Doncaster born official is part of the Select Group 1 list of referees and in 2022 was added to the FIFA List of International Match Officials.
England has previously taken charge of 13 Leeds United fixtures, with the last coming in the Premier League away at Arsenal in April 2022.
Leeds have won four, drawn five and lost four of the matches when England has been the man in the middle. In those games he issued 26 yellow cards and two red cards to Leeds players and awarded three penalties to the opposition.
For Middlesbrough, England has refereed 15 matches, with his last being their 3-3 draw with Plymouth Argyle in November.
Boro have won five, drawn six and lost four of the matches when England has been in charge, issuing 29 yellow cards to Middlesbrough players and awarding three penalties to the opposition.
He has twice refereed a Leeds and Middelsbrough fixture before, both at the Riverside Stadium. A 3-0 Boro win in March 2018 and the 1-1 draw in September 2019, when Kalvin Phillips scored an equaliser in the 11th minute of added time.
