We have been in touch with our friends at Leeds Mind to get some key advice and tips on how to look after our mental wellbeing during this difficult period of lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Many supporters may be struggling with day-to-day life, trying to find a new normal and stick to a routine that is so different to what everyone is used to with so many restrictions and barriers and so it is important now more than ever to look after your mental health and check in with those closest to you to see how they are coping.

It is important to remember that the restrictions for lockdown are there for a reason, to keep everyone as safe as possible with NHS staff and other key workers putting their lives on the line everyday to save lives and help us get through this.

Our friends at Leeds Mind have provided us with a list of top tips that may help you to navigate your way through this period so we will be sharing them with you over the next few days, with the first set listed below.

The local charity have also launched a virtual campaign called #LeedsMindTogether with the aim of keeping our community connected because even though we may have to be physically isolated that doesn’t mean you have to be emotionally isolated. More information about the campaign can be found here and it will involve sharing advice and coping mechanisms, providing a platform for people to discuss various topics and give you the chance to have some online community fun.

If you would like to get in touch with Leeds Mind if you are struggling or know someone who may be struggling with their mental health and wellbeing then please contact 0113 503 5800 or email [email protected].
