Leeds United midfielder Mateusz Klich spoke to LUTV following Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship victory over Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.
Klich played a key role in the win, providing an assist for the early opener and scored himself in the second half, with the Whites coming out with a 3-1 victory.
The Poland international was delighted Leeds were able to pick up all three points and complete the league double over Blackburn.
“It was a very important victory,” said Klich.
“If Blackburn had won, they could have potentially think about reaching the Play-Offs and we wanted to win as our goal is to win every game until the end of the season and not to look down on other teams.
“We knew it was going to be hard and the conditions weren’t great, so we were happy with the win.
“In this league, every team who scores early is happy, because it is so difficult to score a goal.
“Teams defend well and the first goal is very important in this league and it was good we scored early, because it was a tough game.”
Leeds are now top of the table, six points ahead of Brentford in third place with five games remaining and Klich now hopes the side can complete the job and win promotion to the Premier League.
He said: “I hope it stays that way for the next two weeks.
“That is our goal and everyone wants to do it and everyone is ready to do it.
“We need to stay focused for the next five games and we will see what happens then.”
