Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa spoke to the media ahead of Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship fixture with Wigan Athletic.
The Whites are looking for back to back wins at Elland Road following Tuesday’s impressive comeback victory against Millwall.
Bielsa spoke about Saturday’s opponents Wigan, who currently sit in the relegation zone and also gave an update on team news.
“Gaetano Berardi has recovered and Barry Douglas is close to coming back to training again,” said Bielsa.
“Wigan don’t have a good position in the table, but they are in a positive moment of the competition.
“They have a regular base and a lot of players continued with them from last season.
“They have won important matches and we know we are not going to face an easy or simple match.
“We respect them and know that we will have to work a lot in the match to impose ourselves.”
Bielsa was also asked about being back at the top of the table following the midweek result, but insisted nothing is won at this stage.
He said: “We all know the most important thing is how we finish the competition.
“Every point we get is one step forward regarding our objective.
“We cannot anticipate every sensation and every feeling, regarding the step the team is taking.
“It’s not the time to be certified for something, we can only be happy when we achieve our overall objective.
“After the achievement we have over a period, we can comment on it, but the objective is the most important.”
