Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa spoke to the media following Saturday’s defeat at Selhurst Park.

Crystal Palace were 4-1 winners in South London, handing Leeds back-to-back defeats ahead of the international break.

Bielsa gave his assessment on the result and refused to be drawn into debate over Patrick Bamford’s disallowed first half goal.

“It was a fair defeat,” said Bielsa.

“It could have been by more goals or by less goals.

“Their goals arrived when we deserved to score and this left us always trailing to try and get back into the game.

“I don’t analyse the decisions the referees take and it is the same for VAR decisions also.”

The Whites head coach also gave an update on Jamie Shackleton and Pablo Hernandez who were both absent from the squad at Selhurst Park.

He said: “Shackleton picked up a muscular problem in training on Friday and Hernandez doesn’t have any injury, he just wasn’t picked for this game.”
