Leeds United Women return to Adobe Women’s FA Cup action this Sunday, making the short trip to face Huddersfield Town Women in a second round proper West Yorkshire derby.

To advance to this stage of the competition, the Whites ran out 5-1 winners over FC St Helens Women. Kath Smith scored a penalty to have the Whites 1-0 up at the break, before a second half brace from Brittany Sanderson, lob from Sian Gibrill-Keating, and top-corner finish from Chloe Dixon condemned St Helens to defeat.

Ahead of the clash, former Terrier Macy Ellis said: “The team's feeling good. Huddersfield will be a hard game, but we've been training well and we've been getting results. Obviously, the West Brom game was unlucky as we went to penalties, but we've shown that we can compete with teams from the league above, so now we just need to make sure we focus on the league and try and get a win.

“I thought we played really well,” The winger added on the defeat on penalties to West Bromwich Albion Women. “We stuck to our plan and were unlucky to lose on penalties, but we did really well and we just need to take that mindset into the league now and get a win.

“Facing a former club does make you want to win a bit extra, but to be honest, we just need the points to get to third place in the league and then just keep going as we're doing – getting as many points as we can.

“I expect it to be a similar challenge as Huddersfield are a good team. Obviously last time we won 1-0 against them and hopefully we can get the three points that we need and have a good performance.”
