Luke Ayling named PFA February Player of the Month

Defender wins monthly accolade.

Leeds United defender Luke Ayling has been crowned the PFA Bristol Street Motors Player of the Month for February.

Voted for by football fans across the country by fan engagement experts, Snack Media, Ayling picked up 54% of the vote.

It is the second time Ayling has been named the PFA Player of the Month this season, after picking up the gong in December.

After a losing start to February, the full-back helped Leeds go on a five game unbeaten run for the rest of the month, which included four wins and four clean sheets in a row.

He scored the winning goal in the 1-0 victory over Bristol City at Elland Road and also scored the opening goal of Leeds' 4-0 away win at Hull City.

The full list of contenders from the final shortlist polled were as follows:

● Said Benrahma (Brentford) - 16%

● Tom Lawrence (Derby County) - 12%

● Lukas Jutkiewicz (Birmingham City) - 10%

● Christian Walton (Blackburn Rovers) - 4%
