Lukas Nmecha: An important win

Goalscorer reflects on late victory.

Leeds United took all three points against visitors Fulham on Saturday afternoon, as substitute Lukas Nmecha latched onto a cross from captain Ethan Ampadu to fire home the game’s only goal in the 91st minute.

At full-time, the attacker spoke to the media and discussed the volley which guides the Whites to their third victory in the last five home matches.

“I think it was a very good win, an important win,” Nmecha said. “We did well to get the points.

“Luckily, it dropped to me after I had taken three horrific touches in a row! But, yeah, I am really pleased. The ball just dropped to me.

“I think Dom [Calvert-Lewin] made a good run to the front post, kind of took the attention away from me and, yeah, it just dropped on my feet.

“Given the first game against Fulham, with the late loss, it was nice to get a late win and take all the points.”

With his effort today, Nmecha now has five goals since joining the club in the summer, including two late memorable winners at Elland Road!
