Leeds United skipper Liam Cooper has been named in Steve Clarke’s Scotland squad for games in the UEFA Nations League against Israel and Czech Republic in September.

The Tartan Army host Israel at Hampden Park on Friday 4th September (7:45pm), before travelling to Olomouc to take on the Czech Republic on Monday 7th September (7:45pm).

Cooper became the first Leeds United captain since 1992 to lift silverware with the Whites, as Leeds United won the Sky Bet Championship title.

The defender was crucial for Leeds throughout the campaign, making 38 league appearances, scoring two goals on the way to promotion to the Premier League.

Cooper’s performances for the Whites saw him win his first two caps for Scotland last September against Russia and Belgium.

Alongside Czech Republic and Israel, Scotland are also joined by Slovakia in Nations League Group B2.
