Level Playing Field celebrated during Norwich win

New matchday film created for Unite for Access campaign.

Unite for Access vs Norwich

Sunday’s Emirates FA Cup victory for Leeds United was dedicated to ‘Unite for Access’, giving us the chance to raise awareness around access and inclusion for disabled sports fans.

To help celebrate the campaign and matchday, the club ensured there was plenty of branded materials around the stadium. LUTV also produced a special video highlighting the importance of accessibility in football, which will be shown on the big screen ahead of every game moving forward.

Unite for Access is ran by the leading disability fan advocacy charity in England and Wales, Level Playing Field, with almost a quarter of the UK population being disabled, making disabled people the largest minority group in the UK.

The new disability film was released on the big screen ahead of kick-off for our Level Playing Field fixture, featuring numerous Leeds United fans with disabilities. The video intends to raise awareness for supporters on matchdays, highlighting both hidden and visual disabilities, promoting football as accessible for all.

We were pleased to welcome our supporters who starred in the video pitchside pre-match for photos with our official club photographer, giving them the chance to meet first-team star Noah Okafor.

At Leeds United, we are all one family and football belongs to all of us, despite our own challenges and journeys in life, nobody should be excluded for having a disability. The club is committed to continuing work behind the scenes to improve access and facilities and ensure Elland Road is a welcoming and inclusive space that anyone can visit.

The club also works closely with the Leeds United Disabled Organisation (LUDO) and if you would like to become a member (£5 per season) or find out more information about them, please click here.
