Games don’t come much bigger than the weekend’s meeting with our rivals from over the Pennines. On Sunday, Manchester United visit Elland Road with Leeds United looking for a repeat of the last Premier League meeting between the clubs.
Towards the end of the previous campaign, Noah Okafor’s memorable double fired the Whites to a first league victory at Old Trafford in 45 years as Daniel Farke’s side took a huge step towards retaining their top-flight status.
This term, the Whites have been in good form, taking nine points from their opening five outings before travelling to North London to face reigning champions Arsenal last time out.
At the Emirates, in what the boss explained would be one of the hardest tests his team will face, United were impressive, dominating large spells of the game and taking a deserved lead through James Justin’s powerful strike after the break.
Despite Leeds’ best efforts, the hosts grabbed a quickfire double to turn the tie on its head before then having to defend right up until the full-time whistle sounded.
Even after the defeat, we still boast the joint-best defensive record in the top-flight, conceding only five goals in six outings. James Trafford has kept two clean sheets and made a league leading 24 saves to date.
The narrow loss in the capital saw the Whites slip to seventh in the Premier League standings, after previously beating Newcastle United 4-1 and drawing 0-0 with Crystal Palace prior to the international break.
Farke’s side sit three points above 13th-place Manchester United who conceded an injury time equaliser against 10-player Tottenham Hotspur as the encounter finished all square at the weekend.
In the league, Sunday’s opposition are without a win in four and have only recorded one victory so far this term, beating newly promoted Ipswich Town 5-2 in the second round of fixtures.
During the week, Manchester United were in UEFA Champions League action at Atlético Madrid. They got off to the worst possible start in the Spanish capital, conceding in the first minute before Ademola Lookman’s second proved enough for Diego Simeone’s team to secure victory.
Action from Elland Road gets underway at 2pm.

Off-site car parking remains available at the White Rose Office Park. Spaces must be pre-booked for matchday. More information can be found here.
Stadium redevelopment updates:
Due to the redevelopment of the West Stand at Elland Road, there will be a significant change to the way West Stand ticket holders will access the stadium on matchdays throughout the 2026/27 season.
The main West Stand Gate on Elland Road (next to Howard’s) will now be the main access point for away fans only. This will also be the only access point for home supporters with tickets in areas C15, C16 & C17 when an away team fails to sell their full allocation and supporters with designated accessible tickets in the South Stand Lower area FA6. No other supporters will be able to access the West Stand via this route.
All general admission West Stand ticket holders (with the exception of the above) will enter through Entrances 4, 5, and 6. You can access these areas via Gate 4 from Lowfields Road (North East Corner), Gate 2 on Bobby Collins Way (behind the North Stand), or Gate 1 from Bobby Collins Way (North West Corner). Find out more here.
