Leeds United Football Club will pay its respects to those who have served our country on Saturday as we take on Plymouth Argyle in the Sky Bet Championship, with a special tribute and moment of silence held prior to kick off.
Our dedicated Remembrance fixture will feature a number of activities as we commemorate the sacrifices of servicemen and women, past and present.
Ahead of kick off, the two club captains will each carry a wreath as they lead their teams out of the tunnel, before laying them in their respective dugouts. Both teams will then take their place round the centre-circle before a moment of silence is observed during a performance of The Last Post that will be played by buglers live at the side of the pitch.
There will also be representatives from our friends at the Parachute Regiment, the Royal Navy, Royal Air Force, Yorkshire Regiment, and the Royal British Legion in attendance to help us pay our respects.
All of the players involved in the game will be wearing shirts emblazoned with a poppy, and these shirts will be made available for auction following the game – with all proceeds going to local and national military charities. Please keep an eye on the official Leeds United website and Match Worn Shirt for further information.
A massive thank you to all of those who will be in attendance to help mark Remembrance Day at Elland Road, along with all of the servicemen and women who have fought for our country.
