Leeds United Academy and the Leeds United Foundation will be showing their support for the NSPCC's annual Parents in Sport Week, this week.

Parents in Sport Week, which runs from Monday 4th October through to Sunday 10th October, is a national awareness-raising campaign delivered by the NSPCC that aims to highlight the important role parents play in the bigger safeguarding picture of sport.

The theme for the Parents in Sport Week campaign for 2021 is focused on ensuring parents have the right knowledge to support their children, which means getting the right information and resources to parents, so in turn they can play their part and keep their child safe in sport.

The Leeds United Academy and Foundation will be conducting various pieces of work throughout the week with families and participants to lend their support to the annual campaign, recognising the huge part parents play enabling their children to play sport on a regular basis.

Youngsters within the Academy are being set a challenge to create special thank you letters throughout the week, allowing them to recognise first-hand the sacrifices being made by their parents and the levels of commitment they show every week throughout the year enabling them to participate and be a part of the Leeds United Academy.

The club’s official charity will also be sharing the available resources whilst helping to promote the NSPCC’s e-learning course, which only takes 10 minutes to complete.
