There was late drama, penalty shootout tension and scenes of elation at St Andrew’s as Leeds United booked their place in the FA Cup fifth round - and now they will discover who stands between them and a quarter-final spot.
After a pulsating 1-1 draw against Birmingham City, it was Daniel Farke’s side who held their nerve from 12 yards, sealing a 4-2 shootout victory to progress to the last 16.
Lukas Nmecha had fired Leeds ahead with a thunderous strike that lit up St Andrew’s, only for Patrick Roberts' deflected shot to stun the visitors with an 89th-minute leveller that forced penalties. But Leeds kept their composure in the shootout, and it was Sean Longstaff who stepped up to convert the decisive spot-kick and send the travelling support into raptures.
Attention now turns to the fifth-round draw, with Leeds waiting to learn their next opponents.
