Crysencio Summerville and Willy Gnonto paid a special festive visit to Leeds Children’s Charity at Lineham Farm recently to spend time with local youngsters and donate some Christmas gifts to their annual appeal on behalf of the club.
The Leeds United duo were on hand during the holiday period to make the trip over to Lineham Farm after training one day, paying a heartwarming visit to a number of children staying with our official charity partner for the 2023/24 season.
Both players wasted no time getting stuck in during the special afternoon, spending time chatting and answering questions with one group inside before donning a pair of wellington boots to head outside in the elements to their bushcraft area to meet another group of excited youngsters.
During the visit, Willy Gnonto spoke to LUTV and he said: “We’ve just been to meet the kids and bring some presents, and it’s been really nice to get involved in the different activities and for me I am really pleased just to see them and hopefully we were able to give them a little bit of joy.
“These kids come from different backgrounds, and I feel really happy that we can come and make a difference and if I can do more then I will do it. I think especially towards Christmas, we have to do something for them, give a little happiness and make sure they know this time is about being happy and healthy and spending time with your family and friends.”
Leeds Children’s Charity at Lineham Farm work extremely hard throughout the year to brighten the lives of some of the most disadvantaged children in the city, offering them respite from difficult, and sometimes abusive, home lives. The aim during our partnership with the local charity will be to not only promote the incredible work they are doing, but also to ensure these children can enjoy special experiences and create once-in-a-lifetime memories through meeting players and taking part in different events.
