Leeds United Women take on Stourbridge Women in the final of the FAWNL Plate on Sunday.
The Whites head to The ARMCO Arena, home of Solihull Moors, looking to lift the trophy in what has been an enjoyable run to the final so far.
Looking ahead to the match, Smith - who has been a regular at the heart of Rick Passmoor’s midfield - wants the team to remain focused in what is a big occasion.
“It’s a massive occasion for the club,” Smith told LUTV.
“It’s the first national final that the club has been in for 10 years. The opportunity to showcase what we have got as a team in a national final is massive.
“We’ve beaten teams from the league above more than once on our way to the final, all the girls are now really up for the final.
“Everyone knows it’s a big game, so we are focused and we need to stay that way. We are aware of the game plan and we know what our roles are.
“There has been a really nice atmosphere in training this week and there’s a really nice feel about the opportunity for us to show our talent.”
Smith commented on how it would feel if the side were to return north with the trophy on Sunday, having lifted it in front of the travelling fans.
“It’s about enjoying it on Sunday, but making sure we lift the trophy,” she explained.
“It’s silverware, that’s what we all play the game for and what we are at Leeds United for, everyone is really looking forward to it.
“It’ll be massive to see the fans there on Sunday. I know it’s a cliche but they really are the extra player on the pitch for us.
“When you’re playing and you go over the halfway line, then everyone starts to cheer and it gives you a lift.
“The fans can give you that extra bit of energy and extra fight when you really need it in the final 10 minutes. It means everything to us.”
