Leeds United supporter Paddy Miller recently gained the attention of thousands on social media platform Twitter after taking on a special challenge set by Chicago Town Pizza that resulted in him making a huge food donation to the Leeds Fans Foodbank.

The donation of over 500 pizzas was made earlier today, with Paddy paying a visit to the local Foodbank along with representatives from Chicago Town and the Leeds United Supporters’ Trust – who helped to set up the Leeds Fans Foodbank a few years ago – with a special visit paid by none other than Kalvin Phillips, who wanted to thank Paddy in person for his incredible gesture on behalf of the Leeds United family.

Paddy Miller managed to draw the attention of Chicago Town Pizza on Twitter a few weeks ago when he was set the challenge of trying to get 20,000 likes on a recent message that he had linked to the pizza brand, and if he was able to reach the target Paddy would win a year’s supply of pizza.

The tweet managed to go viral in a matter of minutes, with the post generating more than 28,000 likes in total, and Chicago Town ready to oblige with their prize. However, Paddy declined to take the offer up himself and instead asked for the donation to go to the Leeds Fans Foodbank, via the Leeds United Supporters’ Trust. This donation was then further supported by official Leeds United sponsor Boost, who promised to also supply a year’s supply of drinks to go with the pizzas.

Once the donation had been made, the Leeds United Supporters’ Trust wanted Paddy to pay a visit to the Foodbank so he could find out more about the families he was helping to support, and after contacting the club they were also able to help arrange the special visit from the England midfielder along with a squad signed shirt, as a huge thank you for his generosity.

Paddy Miller said: “I’m really pleased to be here at the foodbank depot today, to see the difference this will make to families within the city of Leeds. What started out as a few tweets on social media escalated into benefitting the community. So, I’d like to thank Chicago Town, Boost, LUFC Trust, Leeds United and everyone who interacted online to make it all possible.”

If you would like to show your support to the Leeds Fans Foodbank, you can either make a donation of food during their matchday collections at Elland Road (located outside the East Stand two hours before each home game) or you can make a monetary donation online here.
