Junior Firpo set to link up with Dominican Republic

Leeds United defender Junior Firpo will join up with the Dominican Republic during March's international break, after Marcelo Neveleff named him in his 25 man squad.

The Dominican Republic will face Puerto Rico in two friendlies this month, as they prepare for the resumption of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Concacaf Qualifiers and the start of the Gold Cup in June.

The first fixture will kick off from midnight (UK time) on Saturday 22nd March at the Juan Ramón Loubriel Stadium in Puerto Rico, before the two sides head back to the Dominican Republic's Cibao FC Stadium, for the second friendly on Wednesday 26th March (midnight, UK time).

Since making his international debut in March 2024, Firpo has been ever present for The Quisqueyanos, making 10 appearances, scoring 3 goals and providing 3 assists, whilst playing in a number of roles, including right wing, attacking midfield and as a central midfielder.

Firpo has been in impressive form this season, stepping up with 11 goal contributions across 26 games, most recently winning the club's Player of the Month award.
