Leeds United head coach Jesse Marsch spoke to LUTV following Sunday’s victory over Chelsea.
The Whites produced an emphatic display against the Club World Cup holders, dismantling the Blues 3-0 at Elland Road.
Marsch was delighted with his side and also believes there is more to come.
“It was obviously a big win, but even more important for me was the performance,” said Marsch.
“We created a complex match plan, in case they built with a three or four, which made it good in the second half when they did build with a four that we could switch quickly.
“You can see the team is growing in intelligence and belief and understanding with how we want to play and the confidence is coming together too.
“This should validate things, but give us more hunger to know we have big potential here and that we can continue to grow.
“We have to keep pushing, at Thorp Arch you can see the positive energy, the way the guys come to work every day, I know with this group we will never be outworked or never be out run and now I’m trying to help them not to be out-thought.
“If we can continue to build that in the right way, then we can really build something special.
“The two points we gave away in Southampton was disappointing, but points in this league are incredibly difficult to obtain and it’s been a good start.”
