Jesse Marsch gave his thoughts to the media ahead of Saturday’s trip to face Liverpool, at his pre-match press conference on Thursday afternoon.

The Whites will head to Anfield looking to end a run of matches without picking up points, against Jurgen Klopp’s side who are also aiming to return to winning ways in the Premier League after losing last time out.

As always, the head coach began with an update on the fitness of his squad, prior to the weekend.

He said: “Stuart Dallas and Adam Forshaw are still out.

“In addition, questionable are Leo Hjelde and then Joffy [Joe Gelhardt], Rodrigo, Luis [Sinisterra] and Tyler Adams are all a bit in question.

“We’ll see how the next 48 hours goes for all of those players."

Prior to any further matches being played this weekend, the Reds currently sit in eighth place in the table, with four wins from 11 matches played up to now.

Despite the unusual form of Saturday’s hosts, everyone in the Leeds United camp knows the challenge of the side they are facing at Anfield.

“I know Liverpool, and I’ve got to know Jurgen Klopp a bit over the years,” Marsch explained.

“He is relentless in his commitment to make his team better and his belief of way he does things.

“Liverpool have been one of the best in world over last four or five years. I think that no matter what, it’s a group of professional players who understand what the demands are.

“Their backs have been against the wall already a little bit this year, in different ways than where we are at.

“We know the quality they have, at home they’re incredibly good and the way they responded in the game against Ajax shows everything.

“We’re expecting their absolute best.”
