Leeds United are delighted to announce highly rated defender Jayden Lienou has signed a new three-year deal with the club.

After impressing throughout a fine debut season with Scott Gardner’s Under-21s side, the left-back will now remain in West Yorkshire until 2029.

Joining the club from Manchester City last summer, Lienou made 26 appearances for the U21s, which included gaining experience against senior opposition in the EFL Trophy and National League Cup.

Regularly involved in first team training, the 18-year-old featured on the bench for Daniel Farke’s team in Premier League encounters with Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton & Hove Albion towards the end of the campaign.

Capped by Wales at Under-19 level, the defender’s form with club and country was then rewarded with a first senior call up to the Dragons squad in May where he appeared on the bench for a friendly with Ghana.
