Leeds United midfielder Jamie Shackleton spoke exclusively to LUTV following Friday’s victory over Aston Villa.

Shackleton came on as an early first half substitute for the Whites and played a key role in helping Marcelo Bielsa’s side earn a 3-0 win at Villa Park.

The 21-year-old was very pleased with the performance of the team, along the result, which ended Aston Villa’s 100 per cent start in the top-flight.

“It was good to get my first big chunk of Premier League minutes, a great place to do that and an even better place to come and take three points,” said Shackleton.

“There was a lot of space for me and Rodrigo to get on the ball in-between the lines and I was asked to that as much as possible, keeping the ball ticking over and turning the ball over, winning it back off the two midfielders we were marking.

“We did well in the first half and created a few chances, but in the second half Pat put the chances that we created away.

“It was three top finishes from Pat and he’s on top form at the minute.

“We did brilliantly in the second half and it was even better seeing the game out in the way we did.

“We’ve shown the sort of football we can play in the games previous to this and again we played some really nice stuff which resulted in three brilliant goals to win the game.

“We’re continuing to take things one game at a time, we knew the sort of form that Villa were in, but we come into every game to compete, in every game we participate in, we’re aiming to get three points and it’s pleasing to have done that.”
