Acrobatically firing Leeds United into the lead against Wolverhampton Wanderers was James Justin, reacting brilliantly to drill a spectacular bicycle kick into the back of the net.
After taking his tally to three in all competitions this campaign, the versatile defender joked when asked if that volley was the best of his career.
“I have actually scored quite a few decent goals,” the England international laughed after the full-time whistle as he spoke to the media.
“You would be surprised! But, no, it was a great goal at a great time and obviously set us off on the right foot for today.
“It was a really difficult game, especially the expectation coming into it after what we did on Monday, so it was it was nice to get off to a good start.
“We started obviously pretty well, putting them under pressure, had a few chances and luckily we put one in the back of the net and then Noah followed up to make it two-nil. After that it was just about seeing it through.
“You can’t play great all the time for 90 minutes and you have to go with the flow almost and just stay resilient. And, in the big moments, you need big players to obviously step up.
“Karl did that with obviously a massive save to keep it at two-nil. So, yeah, we are thankful for him,” Justin answered when asked about Karl Darlow’s crucial acrobatic intervention to preserve the team’s clean sheet in the second half.
Discussing fellow goalscorer Noah Okafor, the defender added: “You can see in training every day, what kind of player he is. If he gets the ball at his feet, he is so unpredictable and obviously can win games for us. That is what we need him to do!”
