Jaka Bijol has been called up to the Slovenian national side ahead of their friendly games against Hungary and Montenegro under new head coach Boštjan Cesar.
The Slovenian international has featured 22 times in all competitions for Daniel Farke's side this season since arriving in the summer transfer window, and has been a strong presence in both boxes when required.
Ahead of international duty, Bijol spoke to leedsunited.com to share his thoughts on his national side's camp and their new head coach.
“It is going to be a new challenge, a bit of new energy and a new vision of the game from the coach.
“It is going to be hard work in training, and then we will try to do good in the games and bring the ideas of the new coach to the field.
“A new coach is always going to have new challenges and for him to challenge us as a team. We have the same goals, so we have to work together and try to perform as best as possible.”
Looking forward to linking up with his national teammates, the defender said: “It will be nice to see them all again. It has been a few months that we have not seen each other, a lot has happened and it is going to be nice to get on the pitch together.”
