Leeds United winger, Jack Harrison spoke with LUTV ahead of this Saturday’s Premier League clash with Fulham at Elland Road.

Playing their first home match back in the Premier League after 16 years, Harrison is determined to keep the high-standards set from last weekend’s trip to Liverpool.

The winger scored in the trip to Anfield - a memorable moment for all - and he’s now fully aware that the team need to match the performance levels as every match will be a tough one.

“We have to approach every game as if it’s the same,” Harrison told LUTV.

“We came into Liverpool on such a high and we have to do that this weekend as well or we will get punished.

“We know that we are in the top league in England now and you get punished for not turning up and making little mistakes, we know that as a team.

“We’ve been preparing well so far this week to make sure we are ready for this weekend.

“I mentioned before the importance of the team knowing where we are, we’re in the Premier League now and we have to show up every week.

“I think we’re all aware of the importance and what it means, not just for us but for the fans as well.

“It’s obviously a shame they can’t be there this weekend but hopefully they can be soon.”

On the trip to Anfield last weekend, Harrison also spoke about his goal and gave his verdict on the result.

He said: “It was obviously a really special moment, I hadn’t realised how important it was, being the first goal in the Premier League for 16 years.

“It was a great ball by Kalvin Phillips put over the top, we’ve been working so much on that the last two years, that sequence of play, so to do it in a game was really fulfilling and it shows what we have worked on.

“I think there’s a lot of mixed emotions after the game because we played well as a team, we performed well as a team, we did all the things we had been working on and we took our chances when we could.

So, to come away with nothing was really disappointing but there’s a lot of positives we can take from the game going forward.

“We’ve set the standard now, we’ve set the bar really high so we have to keep working to that and maintain it, sustain it throughout the season.

“It’s going to be challenging for us but it’s something we did before last year and we know how to sustain that and to keep the right level throughout the season.”
