Jack Harrison has spoken with the media, after the 2-1 win for Leeds United at St James' Park.

The winger scored another stunner, winning the game for his side in what turned out to be a tough and hard-fought encounter.

“We knew coming into it that it would be a challenge for us,” Harrison explained.

“We’ve been preparing all week for this. We knew how important it was to come out and be strong, we did that.

“The manager talked about us as a team before the match, having personality and character.

“When you face adversity, it can help you to improve.

“That was his team talk before the match and we went into this game with a lot of grit and a lot of fight and we showed that going until the end.

“Not all the games are easy, especially against a team like Newcastle that can give you a lot of problems up front.

“I felt we did well to come away with three points tonight.”

Winning Leeds United’s ‘Goal of the Month’ for December after his second half wonder strike against the Magpies at Elland Road, Harrison has offered up another contender for January.

This one moved his side onto 26 points and he talked through the goal, after the match.

He said: “It was a great switch ball from Rapha, I was quite tired at the time!

“I just thought to try and get a shot off on target and luckily for us, it went in.

“I don’t know what it is, but I’ll try and keep doing them.

“We will keep working hard, keep our heads down and take everything game by game.”
