Whilst the Premier League break has enabled the majority of the players in the top-flight to gain some much-needed rest, Leeds United winger Raphinha has been busy on international duty with his native Brazil, participating in the South American Qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Last Thursday, Raphinha started for Brazil away in Ecuador, featuring for 63 minutes, before he was substituted alongside Vinicius Junior by Antony and Gabriel Jesus.
Casemiro gave the visitors the lead inside six minutes in a fierce match, which saw five bookings and two yellow cards, however, Ecuador equalised 15 minutes from the end through Felix Torres, ensuring Brazil had to settle for a point.
The five-time World Cup winners returned to action in the early hours of Wednesday morning, taking on Paraguay at the Estadio Mineirao.
Raphinha was the star of the show and thought he had opened the scoring inside two minutes, when he weaved his way through two defenders, before finding the net via the post, however saw the effort ruled out by VAR.
Despite this, Raphinha netted for a second time in the 28th minute and this time the goal stood. He latched onto a through ball and raced into the Paraguay penalty area, before cutting inside and finding the bottom corner with a fine finish.
After leading one-nil at the break, Brazil added three more goals in the second half through Philippe Coutinho, Antony and Rodrygo, with the hosts coming away with a convincing four goal victory.
Brazil have already qualified for the World Cup and sit top of the 10-team group, four points ahead of Argentina.
