Leeds United confirmed the signing of right back Connor Roberts on transfer deadline day, the Welsh international joining on loan from Burnley until the end of the season.

From winning titles at youth level to helping Wales reach a World Cup for the first time since 1958, we look at Roberts' careers to date in photos.

1. GETTING OFF TO A WINNING START

Born in Neath and brought up in the nearby village of Crynant, Roberts joined Swansea City's Academy at the age of 9, and progressed through the various age groups. In his debut season with the Swans' U23s, the right back won the 2014/15 Professional Development League 2 title.

After loan spells wat Yeovil and Bristol Rovers, Roberts linked back up with Swansea's U23s to help lift the 2016/17 PDL 2 title and the Premier League Cup.

2. FITTING IN LIKE A GLOVER

After winning the first of his two PDL 2 titles, Roberts joined League Two side Yeovil Town on a one-month loan, making his professional debut later the same day against Exeter City.

Establishing himself as a regular at Huish Park, Roberts' loan was extended for the remainder of the 2015/16 season, with the defender making 54 appearances for the Glovers, winning five End of Season awards.

3. "WHAT A STRIKE THAT WAS!"

Having made his Swansea debut in their FA Cup Third Round tie against Wolves in 2018, Roberts became a regular under Graham Potter during the 2018/19 season, making 48 appearances.

Two months into the campaign, Roberts scored the first of his 17 professional goals, during Swansea's 3-0 win over Queens Park Rangers at the Liberty Stadium.

In the 76th minute, substitute Jay Fulton laid the ball off to an incoming Roberts, who pulled the ball back to send a QPR defender for a hot dog, before firing the ball past an outstretched Joe Lumley.

4. 64 YEARS IN THE MAKING

Making his Wales senior debut in the 2018 China Cup Final, Roberts has made 54 appearances for The Dragons, scoring his first goal in a 4-1 victory over the Republic of Ireland, when he finished a half-volley set up by Gareth Bale.

Named in Wales' Euro 2020 squad, Roberts started every game as they reached the Round of 16, overcoming a group that included Italy, Switzerland and Turkey.

The right back wrote his way into Welsh history, when he helped the national side to their first World Cup finals in 64 years. Roberts featured in all three group games at Qatar 2022, alongside current Leeds stars Joe Rodon, Dan James and Ethan Ampadu.

5. CHAMPION!

After 17 years at Swansea, Roberts joined Premier League side Burnley on deadline day in 2021, signing on a four-year deal. The right back made 22 appearances in his first season, as the Clarets battled against relegation.

The following season, Roberts was an integral part of Vincent Kompany's Burnley side that won promotion at the first time of asking, featuring 50 times, scoring five. Such was the defender's influence on their season, he was named in the EFL's Championship Team of the Season.

During the current 2023/24 campaign, Roberts has played 16 games for Burnley, across three competitions, most recently coming off the bench against Manchester City on Wednesday night.

6. BACK TO BACK PROMOTIONS?

Linked throughout January, Leeds United finally got their man in the final hours of deadline day, when Connor Roberts signed on loan until the end of the season. On joining the Whites, Roberts said "For me personally, it's a massive opportunity to come play for such a big club, it's something I couldn't say no to, to hopefully be part of something special come the end of the season."

The right back will be hoping to help Leeds United push on in the last few months of the season, with Daniel Farke's side currently sitting in fourth place, two points behind Ipswich Town in second.
