Another great has gone.
Peter Lorimer was certainly one of those: the club’s top scorer, unlikely ever to be overtaken, and legendary for the ferocity of his shooting.
I swear I remember an occasion when a hapless full-back headed one of his free kicks off the line and ended up unconscious in the back of the net.
Like all of the great Don Revie team – too many of them now gone – he had more than one string to his bow: he could beat his man, whip in lethal crosses and tackle back too.
What a player – and what a lovely man.
All of us Leeds fans will miss him.
