Her Game Too release video for International Women's Day

Organisation launches campaign.

Her Game Too

Today, Sunday 8th March, is International Women's Day, and Her Game Too have released a new short film titled 'Same Sport. Different Support.', calling on football to confront a simple truth: you can’t expect equal results without equal opportunity.

The film opens with two footballers, one female and one male, completing what appears to be an identical challenge. Same kit style. Same environment. Same rules. One performs slightly worse. Only later do viewers discover the woman has been quietly disadvantaged throughout, facing obstacles that represent what is often lacking for women in sport: less funding, less research and poorer facilities.

The message of the film is primarily aimed at challenging outdated attitudes towards women’s sport. While the playing field is not level yet, Her Game Too remain confident that partner clubs will continue working alongside the campaign to move closer to that goal. Progress takes time. This is a long-term commitment from everyone involved and recognising that change is needed is an essential first step.

The lead narrator in the film is Mary Earps MBE, goalkeeper for Paris Saint-Germain and former Lioness. The film features players Gabby George and Omari Mrisho.

Quote from Her Game Too CEO and Founder, Caz May: “We’re proud to launch Same Sport. Different Support. for International Women’s Day 2026, especially as it coincides with the five-year anniversary of Her Game Too. As a volunteer-led campaign, we’re always looking for creative ways to share our message in a way that feels both impactful and relatable. This project was only possible because people gave their time, expertise and funding, and we’re incredibly grateful for that support.

“Through this campaign, we want people to recognise the barriers women’s sport still faces and to move away from comparisons with the men’s game, which has benefited from decades more investment, development and backing. Women’s sport is still growing, and it deserves the space and support to do so without being undermined. We’re hugely thankful to Mary Earps, Gabby George and Omari Mrisho for believing in our message and helping bring this campaign to life.”

Quote from Mary Earps MBE: “We have come a long way with the women’s game, but there’s still a long way to go. There’s still a lot of growth to be made particularly in the area of equal access and equal opportunity, and for me Her Game Too was something I was really excited to be a part of.

“I think the messages align with my values perfectly. I can’t wait to play some small part in spreading the message. I hope we can all continue to work really hard to push the game to even greater heights that we know its capable of. Thank you to Her Game Too for allowing me to be part of it and for all of their hard work. I can’t wait to see where this goes.”
