The Leeds United Foundation are launching a new programme called The LUF Junior Football League to encourage local teams and youngsters to join a central league led by the club’s official charity.
The LUF Junior Football League is open to grassroots football teams across Leeds to join and will act as an additional opportunity for members to play regular football and small-sided games, when possible and following government guidelines, alongside your own club training and fixtures.
The league will provide competitive matches for young people to take part in, helping to develop skills further and increase experience levels. There will also be a number of awards to be won every season, both for teams and individual players.
Jenna Wraith, Women and Girls Development Officer at the Leeds United Foundation, said: “We have really been looking forward to launching this league as it is a great opportunity for football clubs and teams to have an additional opportunity to play football on top of the opportunities they already have at their club.
“This LUF Junior Football League will offer teams the chance to compete against other teams in a small-sided format and there will also be a chance to win medals and trophies for the winners and runners up in the league.”
