The Leeds United Foundation are excited to announce the launch of a brand-new educational programme that will be aimed at Secondary School students, helping them to develop and improve their life skills to support their futures.

Sessions delivered as part of the new project, entitled Evolve, will focus on two specific areas and will specifically work best with pupils from Year 9 through to Year 12, with the option to host workshops at Elland Road or from the comfort of your own classroom.

The two main areas for focus will be life skills and health and wellbeing, with 56% of young people saying they didn’t feel ready for adult life when leaving school.

Through the life skills workshops, students will work on areas such as budgeting and understanding tax and national insurance, career progression including interview skills and CV advice, whilst also covering public speaking and highlighting the importance of social action and giving back to your community.

The health and wellbeing sessions will focus on balance, taking into account the importance of a healthy diet, remaining active and managing your stress levels. There will also be an emphasis on creating good habits, helping the young people prepare and use different techniques that may help with stressful situations and day to day tasks and life.

Evolve can be tailored to each school and each year group, and it is the perfect programme to offer that extra support for youngsters as they grow and develop into young adults.

If you would like to discuss the initiative further, and find out more about how you can mix and match the workshops to maximise the impact for your students, please contact [email protected].
