The Leeds United Foundation are pleased to launch a new Skills Centre that will be located at Snaith High School for youngsters looking to improve their football skill set.
The brand-new centre is part of an on-going football development programme that aims to provide opportunities for young people throughout Leeds and sits within the participation pillar of the club’s official charity.
The Snaith/Selby area centre will officially launch on Tuesday 27th July with the first session taking place from 5pm to 6pm, the sessions will then take place weekly every Tuesday.
Each session is one-hour long, with the main focus on individual player development under a Leeds United scheme of work that looks at improving basic football techniques. There are four main areas for development that the qualified coaches will work on with the youngsters, including; ball control, movement, passing/receiving and attacking/defending.
The Skills Centre initiative is suitable for young boys and girls aged between 5 and 13 and upon joining the programme each player is given an exclusive booklet packed with information about the course and development areas.
There are also Skills Centres based at King James’s School every Monday and West Riding County FA every Thursday evening.
