The Leeds United Foundation will launch their second phase of the Fit Leeds programme following a successful first cohort that began earlier this year.
The project, which focuses on health, fitness and wellbeing, is a 12-week course that is now open to both males and females aged from 35 to 65 who are currently inactive or would benefit from help and guidance in becoming more active.
Starting on Tuesday 15th September for females and Thursday 17th September for males, sessions will take place once a week at Elland Road from 6pm to 8pm with social distancing measures in place to keep all participants safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Many fans in and around the local community may find themselves struggling due to a number of different reasons recently, whether that may be a lack of opportunities, decreased income, motivation or struggles with their mental health. Therefore, this programme is the perfect chance to join likeminded people along with experienced coaches all with the same goals, to improve health and fitness levels and push you closer to reaching your full potential.
The programme is free for participants to take part in and throughout the duration of the course the following areas will be monitored, including blood pressure, weight measurement, lifestyles, physical activity levels and your mental health.
Fit Fans has been developed by the EFL and Sport England with additional funding from The National Lottery with each party working together to identify areas for investment based on deprivation, inactivity levels and the number of adults overweight.
