Dominic Calvert-Lewin: I am hungry for more

England international spoke to the media.

DCL goal vs NFFC (2)

Dominic Calvert-Lewin made it double figures for goals in the Premier League this season, netting the third in Leeds United’s impressive victory over Nottingham Forest.

The England international is now the fourth top scorer in the top-flight and, speaking after the match, he discussed the latest in his collection.

“Just be on my toes,” Calvert-Lewin began. “You know, if the ball drops, be alive. I can see the centre-half’s number so I know he can’t see me.

“And then just made my run across him. Just, you know, usual centre-forward play, get across your man, I improvised and chested it in.

“I think when you go into any season, double figures is what you have got to aim for as a number nine in this league.

“So, it is nice to obviously hit that milestone at the moment but I am hungry for more. I am striving every day to improve and just keep scoring more goals.

“Everything came together, an all-round performance from the team. I think just good discipline, well-managed in the game and things obviously went our way on the night.

“The conditions were difficult and we knew what they were going to bring. We battled well and obviously won the game.

“We just did what we have been doing for the past few weeks, just executing our game plan on the ball and off the ball, trying to dominate possession and just manage the game.

“I think we did that very well. Again, not getting carried away, it is a massive three points for us but one we can take confidence from.

“It is a step in the right direction and we will just be working, pushing, motivated even more to keep going up the table.”
