Daniel Farke was pleased to see his side come away with a big three points at Molineux, after responding well to an early goal to win the game.
Speaking after the full-time whistle had sounded, the boss gave his thoughts to the media, praising a ‘dominant’ first half against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
He said: “A really good first half, I think a dominant first half, also creating many chances and excellent goals.
“Today we had this clinical edge in nearly all situations. I think the key was we had a really dominant and confident start. You could feel that we wanted to go for it, wanted to dominate this game.
“Sadly on this level, if you make a mistake, normally it's relatively quickly punished, and this is what happened today. It's the first time in a while that we lacked our defensive awareness of defending a run in behind out of midfield.
“This is what we did after a few minutes, and of course we were punished more or less with our first scene. I think it was crucial that we didn't dwell on this and didn't lose the confidence.
“You could sometimes feel sorry for yourself, especially in an away game, after such a heartbreaking final minute in the last game. But we just kept believing in what we wanted to do and in our game plan, our processes.
“And for that, I think we were then pretty dominant, created good chances, scored three excellent goals, deserved to be in the lead at half-time.
“We would have preferred a bit more control and possession in the second half to control the game a bit better. But yes, of course, Wolves were throwing everything they’ve got at us.
“They tried everything and then we were always a bit reacting in the second half, but I also quite like that we showed in this moment also a different side of our game, the steel, that defensive steel, and that we were also good in defending our own box.
“So in the end, it was also, like always on this level, a hard-fought win and also a tight game. But for me, not a doubt, it was a deserved win.”
