Daniel Farke: Their home form is impressive

Boss previews Pompey clash.

Daniel Farke Training Feb

Ahead of a trip to the south coast this weekend, Daniel Farke has been discussing the Sky Bet Championship clash against Portsmouth.

After being awarded the Manager of the Month award for the fine form of his side during February, the boss spoke with the media at Thorp Arch on Friday, praising the full team.

“I take it as a reward for the whole group, for the whole staff and the group of players for an excellent February,” the manager began.

“We won each and every game and that brought us in a really good position, but it's football, the season doesn't just go for one month and a perfect February.

“You also have to make sure that in all the other months you are on a top level, and for that the focus is already on the next game.”

The Whites will head to Fratton Park to face a Pompey side who have been strong on home turf, losing just four times out of the 17 games they have played there.

“For a newly promoted side to be right now eight points clear of the relegation place is a good position to be in, especially their home form is impressive.

“They've won the last two home games and also against the top sides in this league, they have delivered some really good performances.

“So we know it's a dangerous side and a really good side, especially in home games, and I expect also resilience from them and that they will try to use their excited home crowd and their stadium in order to win further on points.

“We need to be ready also for battles at times, because we need to have some answers to their physicality and also their directness and their transition moments, quality and experience of their offensive players.”
