Daniel Farke provides fitness update ahead of Forest clash

Boss discusses squad availability.

Daniel Farke pre Forest training

Prior to Sunday’s visit to the City Ground to face Nottingham Forest, Leeds United boss Daniel Farke has discussed the availability of his squad for the encounter.

Speaking to the press at Thorp Arch, the German explained there are doubts over Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Sebastiaan Bornauw, with the rest of his players at his disposal.

“It is actually an adductor injury, so a little adductor strain,” he began, discussing the England international forward.

“It will be a tight race so we will make a late call. He is doing his rehab and progressing well but was not in team training yet.

“We still have a couple more days but we won’t take any risks, so it will be a late decision if he travels with us or not.

“A little question mark behind Sebastiaan. He got a hit against his MCL during this week, also missed a training session, so a little question mark behind his availability but all the others are fine and ready to go.”

Farke also added Italian forward Willy Gnonto is in contention to feature having fully recovered from a spell on the sidelines.

“Willy was out for quite a long time, I would say, with calf problems and then with hernia surgery on both sides. He is meanwhile back in team training for two full weeks.

“It is good, you can see him growing. He is growing each and every day. He is back and he is also available and ready for selection. There is also a chance that he could be picked for this game, yes.”
