Leeds United will begin their season at home to Portsmouth on Saturday lunchtime, facing the Sky Bet League One champions from the last campaign.
Pompey head north to open the 2024/25 Sky Bet Championship season at Elland Road full of confidence, but will be met by Daniel Farke’s side who feel ready to go themselves.
The Whites come into the game after a strong pre-season both in England and abroad, but the Boss doesn’t want to think about that too much, ahead of kick-off.
“I'm never tempted to over-interpret pre-season too much, but overall I have to say we're a pretty good group together,” Farke explained.
"We've worked very, very hard and had a brilliant training camp in Germany. The training sessions were on a really good level.
“The friendlies that we had, five games, five wins also against really decent opponents, Schalke 04 for example, Valencia, so also good for the rhythm.
“It was good for the confidence, good for us as a group also to find our confidence back into our process to our football.
“It’s also been good in terms of integrating a few new faces.”
With his first team selection of the season coming up, the manager has plenty of choice, with a fully fit squad available to him.
Farke said: “Everyone is available.
“So yes, it’s good news, I have rarely had this situation in my life as a manager on the first game.
“Everyone is fit and ready to go. We've worked pretty hard, so that's also surprising because I'm also a bit surprised because yes, when you work that hard, normally you have sometimes little muscle injuries or whatever.
“But also credit to our physios, to our sports science and to all the players."
