Leeds United Women manager, Dan O’Hearne spoke to LUTV following Sunday’s League Cup Plate win over Stockport County Ladies.
The Whites produced an impressive performance at the Global Autocare Stadium, recording a 3-1 win and progressing into the next round, where they will face Alnwick Town away from home.
The goals that saw O’Hearne’s side through came from, Rebecca Hunt, Rebekah Bass and Abbie Brown.
“I thought we thoroughly deserved the win,” O’Hearne explained.
“I thought we were in total control, and we deserved the win. This win now sets us up for the FA Cup game against Hartlepool next weekend,
“It’s good to get another victory and keep the momentum going.
“Everyone would have liked a home draw in the cup but we’re going to the North East again.
“It’ll be another tough game against a hard working team, but we’re capable of winning if we play to our potential.”
O’Hearne was asked about the possibility of a long cup run and the thought of playing a Super League side at some point.
He said: “We want to just take each game as it comes and work our way through the rounds and hopefully that will come."
