Charlie Crew played the full 90 minutes as Wales U21 recorded an impressive 2-0 victory over Belarus U21 in their UEFA EURO 2027 qualifying campaign.
The fixture, held at Rodney Parade, saw the hosts claim their second win in Group I, lifting them off the bottom of the standings with a composed and confident display.
Wales, managed by former Leeds United player Matt Jones, made a strong start and were rewarded inside the opening quarter of an hour. Gabriele Biancheri opened the scoring after 15 minutes, finishing well to give his side early control.
The advantage was doubled just before the break when Archie Harris found the net in the 41st minute, ensuring Wales headed into half-time firmly in command.
Crew, representing the Whites on international duty, delivered a disciplined performance in midfield, helping his side maintain control throughout the contest and see out the clean sheet.
The appearance continues a strong run for the Leeds youngster, who has now featured in four of Wales’ last five U21 fixtures as he continues to gain valuable experience on the international stage.
Attention now turns to their next qualifier, with Wales set to face Denmark U21 on Tuesday, where Crew will be hoping to retain his place in the starting line-up.
