Leeds United Women can round off an impressive season with silverware this weekend, as they face Halifax Women in the West Riding FA County Cup Final!
Having finished fourth in their FA WNL Division One North campaign, the Whites will be keen to get their hands on the trophy to cap a strong year under boss Simon Wood.
United started their route to the final with a convincing win over Huddersfield Amateur, before beating Ilkley Town away from home to set up a quarter-final tie with Altofts Ladies.
A dominant first half showing proved the difference for Leeds against Wakefield opposition, before a 4-0 triumph over Knaresborough Town confirmed a place in Sunday’s showpiece final.
Halifax, meanwhile, progressed to the final with a statement victory over Harrogate Town, despite enduring a tough campaign in the Northern Premier Division which has seen the Calderdale outfit relegated to the fourth tier.
The two sides have already met once this term, with the Whites prevailing in the early rounds of the FAWNL Cup thanks to goals from Sarah Danby and former Halifax player Drew Greene.
Leeds have pedigree in the competition, lifting the trophy on five occasions since 2004, with the most recent success coming in the 2011/12 campaign.
Action from Fleet Lane gets underway at 3:30pm.
