Leeds United can today announce Cole Gibbon has signed his first professional contract with the club.
The 18-year-old has agreed a one-year deal with the Whites, running until the summer of 2021.
Gibbon was a regular for Mark Jackson’s Under-18s side last season in midfield, prior to the league being curtailed following the Coronavirus pandemic and also made his debut for the Under-23s.
He will now step up to Under-23s football permanently next season and look to follow in the footsteps of Kalvin Phillips, Jamie Shackleton and Robbie Gotts, who have all gone on to progress to the first team from the Academy.
