Ahead of Leeds United’s fixture against Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon which has been dedicated to Level Playing Field and all of our disabled supporters, we wanted to remind our fans about some of the developments the club have made recently to improve accessibility around the stadium to ensure everyone feels welcome at Elland Road.

-        Sensory Room located in the South Stand at Elland Road for people with additional sensory requirements. Further information can be found here whilst booking enquiries can be made through [email protected].

-         A new changing places facility has been opened under the big screen at Elland Road. This includes a hoist for those who may require it, along with specialist changing and toilet facilities.

-        The club recently launched a Disabled Advisory Group, there are 12 supporters involved with varying backgrounds. The group held its first meeting at the beginning of March, discussing a number of areas for development with ideas and thoughts shared.

-        A wellbeing team has been brought in for matchdays at Elland Road to support those who may need it, and they can be identified by their maroon hi-vis jackets. They will be on hand to assist people with disabilities, as well as supporting with safeguarding checks.

-        The club’s disabled liaison officer is also stationed in the Northwest Tunnel on a matchday for any ticketing queries. Throughout the week there is also a dedicated accessible phone line for ticketing queries on 03331300505.

-        There is audio assistance available for games with match commentary, and these can be collected from the West Stand Security Office. There is just a £20 refundable deposit required for the equipment.

-        For any supporters travelling to Elland Road in a wheelchair on the day of a game, we have wheelchair assistance available from the car park to the stadium. To make a booking please email [email protected].

-        Increased training with stewards and matchday workers has been delivered to take into account hidden disabilities, and this includes recognising the sunflower lanyard.

We would like to say a huge thank you to all supporters that filled out our recent access survey, the club are now working through the comments and suggestions made to hopefully enable us to continue improving facilities at the stadium.

For everyone that will be attending our dedicated Level Playing Field fixture at the weekend, please make sure you wrap up warm for the clash as it is expected to be very cold!
