The match officials for Leeds United’s Emirates FA Cup semi-final tie with Chelsea have been announced, with Jarred Gillet set to take charge at Wembley Stadium.
The fixture will be the fifth time Gillet has officiated the Whites this season, after games against Arsenal, Nottingham Forest, Manchester United and Brentford to date.
Most recently refereeing Daniel Farke’s side, Leeds were forced to settle for a point in a goalless draw as they faced the Bees at Elland Road before the most recent international break.
The 39-year-old has taken charge of the weekend’s opponents on three occasions so far this term, overseeing wins over Tottenham Hotspur, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Aston Villa in the Premier League.
Saturday’s fixture will mark the first time the Australian has taken charge of an Emirates FA Cup tie at Wembley, despite previously officiating the 2021/22 Sky Bet League Two Play-Off final as well as the 2024 FA Community Shield under the iconic arch.
So far in all competitions this season, the referee has been in the middle of 23 matches, showing 83 yellow cards and one red card across the Premier League, Sky Bet Championship, Emirates FA Cup and EFL Cup.
Supporting him on the day will be Neil Davies and Simon Long, with Thomas Kirk on the touchline as the fourth official. Keeping up with the action from Stockley Park is Video Assistant Referee Paul Howard and Additional VAR Sian Massey-Ellis.
