The Leeds United Foundation have hosted another round of successful Careers Day events at Elland Road for students from Carr Manor Community School.

Engaging with youngsters from both Year 8 and Year 9, a number of coaches from the club’s official charity have been delivering these exclusive sessions over the last few months as part of a partnership with the local school that involves a careers advice and opportunity programme.

Working alongside the staff based at Carr Manor, the Leeds United Foundation coaches are providing pupils with extra support as well as a number of exciting opportunities, such as visits to Elland Road.

During the recent visits those in attendance were able to learn more about the diversity of the roles within the club, including those at the Academy and the Foundation – hearing first hand from a number of teams based at the stadium including Media, LUTV, the retail department, and a variety of the Foundation programme leads.

Ben Parker, the Community Link Officer at the Leeds United Foundation spoke with students during their visit and said: “It was great to chat to the students and be able to share my background. The kids were very engaging, and asked detailed questions and they were all very positive about the next chapter of their school lives – which in turn really made me enjoy the careers day too.”

Ashleigh Martlew, who leads on the partnership with Carr Manor Community School, added: “We had two great days with the Year 8 and Year 9 students, and it was great to see them engaged throughout the whole day. All the pupils were very well mannered and polite when interacting with the members of staff from the different departments, they were all a credit to the school and we look forward to hosting our next Careers Day event.”
